Emails Reveal the late financier and Steve Bannon Connection

In November 2018, Steve Bannon, previously Donald Trump's chief strategist, was in the UK to deliver a speech at the Oxford Union.

The speech was disrupted by hundreds of demonstrators, and Bannon, scheduled to travel that evening, informed Jeffrey Epstein in an email: "Protesters slowed down speech don't think I can make the flight we r enroute to the airport".

Epstein replied: "There. Is a Gulf Air that leaves at 9:50 with a layover in Bahrain". Bannon replied: "U r an amazing assistant".

These messages were published on Wednesday alongside more than 20,000 documents from the estate of Epstein, the late convicted sex offender.

The disclosure by the House oversight committee contains an iMessage chat where Bannon's identity is redacted. Media outlets managed to establish his identity by cross-referencing the timeline, events, and places mentioned.

For instance, Epstein discusses chartering a plane from the UK for the redacted user in the messages, and offers praise their "Oxford speech". Bannon took part in the Edinburgh conference on 14 November, and gave the speech at the Oxford on November 16.

Bannon, who faces no allegations of any misconduct, declined to comment on the request for comment.

'I'll make sure you're well looked after'

Bannon was one of Trump's closest advisers in the lead-up to the 2016 election and during the initial phase of his first administration, but resigned from the White House in August 2017.

He has acknowledged he was making a documentary about Epstein prior to his death and reportedly has approximately 15 hours of footage. In a recording of his podcast earlier this year, he stated: "We plan to publish the film, the multi-part documentary, next year - at the start of next year."

But the recently disclosed materials indicate Bannon's relationship with Epstein went further than documenting his life, with the convicted paedophile occasionally seeming to act like a personal assistant.

A few days before the conversation in which Epstein appeared to have booked a private plane for Bannon, Epstein remarked: "how does it feel to have the highest-paid booking agent in the world ".

Bannon expressed gratitude: "U r quite capable asst", to which Epstein responded "Therapies. Excluded".

Discussing a trip to "Abu Dhabi" in another message, Epstein assured Bannon: "I'll make sure you're well looked after."

British Affairs Mentioned in Messages

The released messages also reveal Bannon and Epstein discussing British political matters in that year.

Earlier on the same day his address at the Oxford Union, Bannon texted Epstein: "I became involved in the Brexit thing this morning with Nigel, Johnson and Mogg."

Then, in what seems like a reference to Theresa May, the embattled British leader at the period, he continued: "The guys are trying to proceed. May soon…"

Epstein suggested Bannon: "I think staying as much as you can uk. Ideal- so others get the dedication of your follow-up."

Shortly after, Epstein inquired: "Can Theresa may remain in power". Bannon replied: "I don't see how BUT the guys over here have no balls" and noted "Boris ; Gove; Jacob Rees-Mogg; David Davis - someone has to take charge".

Theresa May was finally toppled in 2019 after withstanding two votes of no confidence in late 2018.

A spokesman for Reform UK told the BBC: "Nigel Farage has not been in a gathering with Bannon, Rees-Mogg and Boris Johnson." And there is no evidence such a meeting occurred.

The US House of Representatives will vote next week on whether the Department of Justice should release all its files concerning its probe into Epstein, who passed away in prison in that year.

Interest in Epstein's associations with powerful figures was renewed recently after the publication of over 20,000 documents from his archives.

Some of those mentioned the former president, who has repeatedly rejected any impropriety. The leader was a acquaintance of Epstein's for years, but says they parted ways in the early 2000s, two years prior to Epstein was first arrested.
